My name is Brian Howard. I am a digital artist and writer, primarily using Photoshop and Midjourney. Photoshop has been used in my graphic design routine for over 15 years. Lately, my emphasis is on AI generated art and prompt building for Midjourney; which I have been using since January of 2023. The possibility of technology is what draws me to AI. A few years ago, I was struggling to keep up with the skills I had already learned while trying to learn new ones. The opportunity exists now, to focus most of my time on shaping ideas. AI promises to level the playing field and elevate the idea. Here’s to hoping that promise comes true.
Another reason I am drawn to AI generated art and prompt building, is the ability to iterate on a piece of work very easily. When creating a portrait of a person, it’s very easy to reimagine them with different color hair or different facial features, etc. Prior to AI generation, iteration was a laborious process even with programs like Photoshop.
With the tools that are being developed, maybe soon all of my ideas can be realized. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
